Never visit the Top End in a month with R in it. May to August is the most popular time. Access to the El Questro Wilderness Park is only available in the dry season from May to September.

CHEAPER OPTIONS -
There is the Station at El Questro ***
where you can stay in cottages or tents by the Pentecost River. It has a great swimming hole and a Steakhouse Restaurant. The newly opened Cantina serves 3 meals a day. The Swinging Arm bar is a large outdoor area for dining and socialising. It has shade sails, ducted water misting and live music.
Emma Gorge Resort at El Questro
where you can stay in tented cabins by Emma Gorge Creek. There is a restaurant serving coffees and 3 meals a day.

Darwin International Airport (DRW) -

From (KNX) you will be picked up on their twice daily road transfers via the legendary Gibb River road.
If your flight times fall out of their scheduled hours you can get an unscheduled transfer anytime but charges will apply.
